5 OPERATION
5.1 Introduction
This chapter describes the operation of the sprayer.
5.2 Driving safely on the road
Before driving:
WARNING
•
Send everyone away. Other people can distract you or obstruct the view.
•
Walk around the machine and check for damage and leaks. Secure loose parts and close
all covers.
•
Check that the left and right spray boom are well supported.
•
Use the ladder for climbing on and off the machine.
•
Sit down on the driver’s seat, close the door and start the engine.
•
Adjust the driver’s seat if necessary.
•
Fasten your seat belt. Seat belts are supplied since 03-2014.
•
Move the ladder up.
•
Turn the headlights on.
•
Turn the rotating beacons on.
•
Adjust the rear-view mirrors if necessary.
•
Select the front-wheel steering with the selector switch [18] on the armrest (

71 ).
•
Select ROAD MODE (main screen).
•
In case of ClearancePlus: lower the machine down to the bottom position. Selector switch
[16] on the armrest (

71 ).
•
On the road, the track width must be at least 80 inch
(200 cm)
. Refer to

113 for changing the
track width.
While driving:
WARNING
•
Do not let anyone but an instructor ride along on the machine.
The instructor must sit on the instructor seat and must fasten his seat belt. The instructor
seat is certainly not a child seat.
•
Check the operation of the brakes immediately after driving off.
•
Do not leave the cab while driving.
•
While driving on public roads, keep to the traffic regulations.
•
Adjust your speed according to the traffic situation.
•
The driving characteristics (steering and braking) are negatively affected as the spray tank
is fuller. Decrease your speed as the spray tank is fuller.
•
Be careful in corners: the rear of the machine swings out.
•
Stop driving before you adjust the driver’s seat, the armrest or the steering column.
•
Stop driving before you
operate the air conditioning, the radio or the turning knobs in the cab roof
.
•
Stop driving before you change any settings on the main screen.
•
When reversing, the back-up alarm must sound.
•
When reversing, get assistance if necessary.
