6.39 Spray boom - Yaw damping

Check the rubber buffers [1] for wear (left and right).

6.40 Spray boom - Breakaway protection

Both ends of the spray boom have a breakaway
protection: in case of a collision, the breakaway part
is pushed away and automatically goes back to its
rest position.

Checking the operation:

1.

Pull the breakaway part rearward 3 feet

(1 meter)

.

2.

Release the breakaway part. The breakaway
part must now go back to its rest position.

Breakaway part with an extension spring:

1.

Tension the spring with the nut [1]:
X=4 inch

(10 cm)

.

2.

Tighten the nut [2].

6.41 Spray nozzle holders

Liquid system with electric section valves

The spray nozzles are opened by the liquid pressure acting on a diaphragm in the spray nozzle
holder. When the pressure drops, a spring closes the diaphragm. If a spray nozzle leaks this is
caused by a defective diaphragm or a defective spring.

Liquid system with pneumatically controlled nozzle holders

The spray nozzles are opened by an air cylinder. When the pressure drops, a spring closes the
spray nozzle. If a spray nozzle leaks this is caused by a defective seal or spring. Clean the plung-
ers 1x per season.
