Fig. 6.10 Interface Menus
Enable Menus
Use Enable menus to enable (Yes) or disable (No) each interface.
The LocalTalk, RS232, and parallel interfaces are enabled as factory
defaults. If the Ethernet upgrade is factory installed, EtherTalk and
LPR interfaces are enabled, and the Novell Print Server interface is
disabled as factory defaults.
Mode Menus
Use Mode menus to select the printer mode for files sent across each
interface. The RS232 and Parallel Mode menus allow you to select
PostScript Standard (PS STD), PostScript Binary (PS BIN), or
PostScript Tagged Binary Communication Protocol (PS TBCP). The
LocalTalk, EtherTalk, LPR, and Novell Print Server are set for the
PostScript Standard (PS STD) printer mode. PS STD is the factory
default for all interfaces except parallel, which is set to PS TBCP.
Spool Menu
Use Spool menus to enable (Yes) or disable (No) the spooling
feature on each interface. Spool menus only appear if an optional
IDE disk is installed. The factory default is No for all interfaces. See
“Spooler” in chapter 3 (Macintosh) or 4 (PC) for features.
