Key switch continues to function and the machine will start without entering
the password.
To reactivate the keypad functionality, AFTER everything is started, press
Menu.
After BioSans starts and the Login Menu appears on the screen, a message
appears on the KeyPad --Press Reset to Restore keypad. The message
stays there until the computer restarts. After resetting the keypad, turn the
key to ON and the keypad requires a password to access the XR3D.
E Photo Sensors Provides the ability to change the Photo sensors configuration. The Control
Box can read photo sensor outputs Normal Close and Normal Open.
C Password Technician Provides the ability to change the keypad password for the Technician. The
Technician uses the Keypad to access DIOX-type functionality. However,
the Technician must also log on BioSans as a Technician to access
Windows Operating System / and the other XR3D diagnostic software.
3.4 Performance Verification Test
There are nine (9) tests on the ASTM test tool that make up the image quality performance test,
After scanning the test unit, you can use as many of the XR3D image enhancement features as
you want to view the test object.
The performance test determines that the penetration, wire resolution, and the organic/inorganic
differentiation tests are consistent with previous results recorded on the maintenance log sheet.
If the results of the tests do not show any significant degradation from the time they were
previously run, the test cases are considered to be valid. If the ASTM verification tests do not
pass, log off and contact your Administrator or a VOTI-certified technician.
3.4.1 ASTM Test Tool Description
The ASTM F 792
– 08 test object, developed by the American
Society for Testing and Materials International, is used in
support of the US Transport Security Program. The tool and the
evaluation test procedures associated are based on the ICAO
(International Civil Aviation Organization Recommendations.
The ASTM Step Wedge can be either a North American or European (ECAC
– European Civil
Aviation Conference) style. The wedge can be purchased at Westminster International or at
HighCom Security Inc.. It can also be built using the F79208 ASTM Procedure and the blueprints
for the test piece.
3.4.2 ASTM Test Tool Placement
The test unit is to be scanned out of the case. In order to get the best result, perform as many
scans as you want to get the best results. Scan in a horizontal orientation depending on the test.
For Test 1, 2, 9, and 7, scan this edge farthest from the Operator. For tests 3, 4, 6 and 5, scan
this edge farthest from the Operator.
“The location and orientation of the test object in the following procedures depends on the
X-Ray source and detector arrangement. The position of the test object for these tests shall
be chosen to obtain the best displayed image possible. Additional locations may be used
as desired.” (F 792 – 08, section 6).
