3.4.7 Test 4
– Simple Penetration
After scanning the ASTM test object, record if the lead numbers can be seen on the monitor
through the steel block on the Log Sheet (by checking with a
in the box). It is recommended
that you use the Very High Density Enhance (VHDE) feature.
A lead number is considered to be seen through a steel step if more than half of it is visible.

Simple
penetration.
The steel test is best placed at the center of the
conveyor. 14, 18, 22 are visible without any
problem. HD Enhance causes 26 to appear. VHD
Enhance causes 30 to appear. The entire number is
not required to be visible, the test will pass if only
part of a number is visible.
3.4.8 Test 5
– Thin Organic Imaging
After scanning the ASTM test object, record on the Log Sheet (by checking with a
in the box),
if each layer can be seen (any image mode can be used).
The plastic sample must appear different from the adjacent sample.

Organic layer differentiation using the same material but differentiating
the three different layers depending on their thickness.
Distinguish each layer.
3.4.9 Test 6
– IQI Sensitivity
After scanning the ASTM test object, record on the Log Sheet (by checking with a
in the box),
if at least half of the hole can be seen (any image mode can be used).
At least half of the hole must be visible through the steel or plastic step.

Signal to noise shows the
smallest signal difference you
are able to see with the
scanner when you have a
plastic compound with a
metallic compound. You are
trying to see the most holes
possible.
Using Pseudo, you are looking for as
many holes as possible. For example,
you should be able to see 8 on the
right image
– 3 on the first and second
line, and 2 on the last line.
