3.6 X-ray System Test
XR3D series are built to achieve the highest standard in terms of radiation protection. The
maximum X-ray leakage is less than 5 µSv/h (0.5 mR/h) measured at 5 cm from any external
surface. (European standard - less than 1 µSv/h (0.1 mR/h) measured at 10 cm from any
external surface).
The first procedure to perform before starting using the unit is to check if the leakage level is still
up to the standard. This has to be performed by a VOTI trained technician.
Tests are to be conducted by a Certified Radiation Technician. Leaded apron, gloves, and
X-ray protective glasses are not required during the validation tests.
Tools:
UL Certified Calibrated Dosimeter, noting the Model and Serial Number and the
last calibration date, and the due calibration date on the Test Report.
Software applications, DIOX and VOTI's Diagnostic Tool, to trigger the generation
of X-rays and enter the test values.
