Direct transmission
The remote Fax is dialed immediately, and the original will be sent as it is being scanned. This
mode is useful if you want to confirm connection to the remote Fax or when you want to send an
urgent Fax document. Originals are not stored in memory, and you can only specify one remote
Fax at a time.
y The direct transmission cannot be used when “DIAL AFTER SCAN” is enabled.

y You can use the following dialing methods:

P.48 “One Touch Key Dialing”
P.50 “Abbreviated Dialing”
P.51 “Alphabet Dialing”
y This function is valid for the current job (one transmission) only.
y Redialing operation is not effective for direct transmission.

the control panel.

y "DIRECT TRANSMIT" screen
appears.

Select “1. YES” using the

the [ENTER] button.
y To cancel this function, select "2.
NO" and press the [ENTER] but-
ton to return to the basic screen.

Place the original(s) and
perform the transmission
operation.
y If you want to cancel the trans-
mission after performing the
transmission operation, press
the [CLEAR/STOP] button to dis-
play the screen on the right.
y If you leave the equipment in this
status for specified period of
time, the setting returns to the
default, and also the screen
returns to the default mode basic
screen.
