PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND TUNE-UP PROCEDURES
Remove the carbon deposits with a wire or pin and
adjust the spark plug gap to 0.7-0.8 mm,
measuring with a thickness gauge.
When removing carbon deposits, be sure to
observe the appearance of the plug, noting the
color of the carbon deposits. The color observed
indicates whether the standard plug is suitable or
not. If the standard plug is apt to get wet, a hotter
plug should be used. If the standard plug is apt to
overheat (porcelain is whitish in appearance),
replace with a colder one.
NOTE:
"R" type spark plug fitted under some of
specifications and it means that the resistor
is located at the center electrode to prevent
radio noise.
