Eject Tapes
Eject a Single Tape
Ejecting a tape moves that tape to the Entry/Exit pool of a Spectra Logic tape library, or the
I/O slots of an IBM tape library. Any objects on the exported tape are inaccessible until the
tape is re-imported into a storage pool.
1.
Select
Status > Tape Management
to display the Tape Management screen (see
).
2.
Select the tape you want to eject, and then select
Action > Eject Tape
. The Eject Tape
dialog box displays.

If desired, enter information in the
Eject Label
and
Eject Location
fields. This information
is stored on the BlackPearl database and is visible when re-importing the tape into a
BlackPearl system. You are not required to enter this information.
Note:
If you previously entered information for this tape cartridge, prior to ejecting it, as
described in
Edit Tape Eject Information on page 276
, that information is
displayed in the entry fields automatically.
4.
Click
Eject
. The tape is marked as ejected in the BlackPearl system database, and moved
the Entry/Exit pool of a Spectra Logic tape library, or the I/O slots of an IBM tape library.
