Description
scanning_time
MOBY I:
Scanning_time is the scanning time for the MDS 507 of MOBY I. A value of 00 can
be used here for all other types of MDSs. The scan time setting (ABTA) is shown
below (see also configuration manual of SLG 44/MDS 507).
Example: A scanning time of 1 second results in ABTA = 81 HEX for the parameter.

Time value: 00-3F
Time factor:
00 = 0,01 sec
01 = 0,1 sec
10 = 1 sec
11 = 10 sec
MOBY U:
Scanning_time describes the standby time for the MDS. If the MDS receives an
additional command before scanning_time has expired, this command can be exe-
cuted immediately. If the MDS receives a command after scanning_time has ex-
pired, command execution is delayed by sleep_time of the MDS.
Scanning_time should only be set when both of the following conditions exist.
S
The MDS uses several commands.
S
Command execution must be concluded within a minimum time.
00 hex = no standby time (Default)
01 hex = 7 msecs standby time
02 hex = 14 mecs standby time

C8 hex = 1400 mecs standby time
Remember:
Scanning_time affects the life of the battery. The longer scanning_time is, the
shorter the life of the battery. For precise calculations, see the MOBY U manual for
configuration, mounting and service.
SLG_number
Number of the SLG station. This number is written to the MDS before each
processing operation. This enables the filehandler to recognize if a “new MDS” has
actually entered the field.
The user must ensure that every SLG station has a different value for each
use of the “SLG” parameter.
0001 to FFFE:
Normal operating mode
FFFF:
Test function:
The SLG no. will not be evaluated by the
filehandler. The filehandler’s (or user program’s) entry/exit
monitoring can thus only be tested with one SLG station and
one MDS. The same MDS can return to the transmission window
of an SLG repeatedly be processed.
