5.9.2.1.2
Prioritizing image output over the trigger
Prioritizing image output over the trigger
parameter defines a processing sequence for
outputting images and accepting an object trigger. If this parameter is activated, the diagno-
stics images are transmitted in full before the device accepts and processes an object trig-
ger for the subsequent reading process. If this parameter is deactivated, a trigger signal is
processed by the device in any case and an unfinished image output is interrupted.
To set up the reading device, the priority of the image output can be used to determine what
the device detects within a reading gate. If this parameter is activated, you can check the
object trigger interval and length of the reading process. In applications where image output
is more important than continuous object/code detection, it is only recommended to priori-
tize the image output for normal operation in exceptional circumstances.
5.9.2.1.3
Image selection
You use the
parameter to select the images to be stored for each reading
gate.

LAST
IMAGE
: If the code reading was successful, the last image on which
one or more codes were read is stored. If the code reading was not successful, the most
recently recorded image is stored. (Recommended for applications for which the code does
not move out of the reading gate during reading.)
• F
IRST
IMAGE
: The first recorded image is stored. (Recommended for applications for which
the code is in motion during reading and for which triggering takes place to the code, i.e. the
first image already contains a code.)
• I
MAGE
SEQUENCE
: All recorded images are stored as a sequence. (Recommended for appli-
cations for which the reading gate is opened by an object and the position of the code on
the object is not known exactly.) The recording of image sequences is used to check trigge-
ring and recording quality for moving objects. The images are numbered top left. If image
numbers are missing, not all recordings can be decoded and the settings (e.g. code set-
tings) must be modified accordingly.
