It is possible to format a CompactFlash card, Microdrive, CD-
RW or DVD+RW.

Insert a CompactFlash card, CD-RW or

DVD+RW.

Press the [COPY] button.

The COPY indicator lights up and the copy setting screen is
displayed.

Turn the jog dial to select “FORMAT/

ERASE” and then turn the shuttle dial

clockwise.

“COMPACT FLASH” flashes.

“FORMAT/ERASE” cannot be selected when a disk writer
is not connected.

Turn the jog dial to select the “FORMAT/

ERASE” setting and then turn the

shuttle dial clockwise.

The cursor moves to “FORMAT/ERASE START”.

[Settings] (

indicates default setting)

Turn the shuttle dial clockwise.

The <WARNING> screen is displayed.

Turn the jog dial to select “FORMAT

START” and then turn the shuttle dial

clockwise.

Be sure to use CompactFlash cards that have been
formatted using FAT16. The digital video recorder does not
recognize FAT32 CompactFlash cards.
