Warm Ambient Option (Cabinet cooling) for ATEX constructions
The Warm Ambient Option (Cabinet cooling) option for the ATEX constructed IVT Oil Mist
Generator is REQUIRED when it is installed in geographical locations where the maximum
ambient temperature exceeds 40
°
C (104
°
F). See page 15 for more information regarding
permissible ambient temperatures. The IVT Oil Mist Generator cabinet cooling system is
designed to provide internal cooling protection to the IVT Controller electronic components. The
cabinet cooling system uses a pneumatic operated vortex cold air generator for reducing and
maintaining the operating temperature inside of the console cabinet. A temperature switch
provides ON-OFF control to a solenoid operated air valve, which regulates the air supply to the
vortex cooler. The internal cabinet temperature is controlled at approximately 32
°
C (90
°
F). The
thermostat is factory set.
The IVT Oil Mist Generator Cabinet Cooling system for the ATEX construction includes the vortex
cold air generator with temperature switch, solenoid operated air valve, wire terminal enclosure,
an air temperature gauge and a power disconnect switch. An air pressure regulator is provided
for controlling the inlet air pressure to the vortex cold air generator.

Warm Ambient Option (Cabinet cooling) - ATEX constructions
When the IVT Oil Mist Generator is equipped at the factory with a cabinet cooling system, no
additional user connections or installation is required. The instrument air supply serving the oil
mist generator for producing the oil mist also provides air to the cold air generator. An air block
valve and an electrical disconnect switch are provided for servicing if necessary.
