Auxiliary Oil Mist Generator 

General Description and Use: 

The IVT Oil Mist Generator console includes an integral auxiliary oil mist generator.  
The auxiliary unit is provided for use when maintenance or repair operations are being performed 
on the main oil mist generator 
 

 

The auxiliary oil mist generator is operator accessible from the operator panel. The controls for 
the auxiliary oil mist generator are located on the right side of the operator panel. A separate 
electrical power switch is provided in the NEC configuration of the IVT Oil Mist Generator. In the 
ATEX version the three-position selector switch switches power from the main to the auxiliary oil 
mist generator. Reference the descriptions in the 

Operator Panel 

section of the PRODUCT 

DESCRIPTION for additional information. 
A low air pressure switch is located in the mechanical compartment. Mist pressure and reservoir 
oil level gauges are provided to locally monitor the mist pressure and reservoir oil level once the 
unit has been placed into operation. A plugged reservoir drain valve is provided for draining and 
cleaning the reservoir as needed. Just as the main oil mist generator, the auxiliary oil mist 
generator includes an integral air oil heater. The heater controls are accessible from the operator 
panel. Also located on the operator panel are two manually operated toggle valves for filling the 
auxiliary oil reservoir from the bulk oil supply tank.  
 

 

 

NOTICE: 
The auxiliary oil mist generator is intended for intermittent use 
only. When operated for purposes other than to perform routine 
maintenance or repair of the main oil mist generator, it should 
be checked at the beginning of every shift for proper operation.
