7 OPERATION

TO START THE ENGINE________________________________________________
Turn the keyswitch to the 'PREHEAT' position, when the glow plug indicator lamp on the instrument goes out
continue turning the key to the 'START' position. When the engine has started, release the key and allow it to
return to the 'ON' position.
IMPORTANT
(a) Do not turn key whilst engine is running.
(b) If the engine fails to start within 10 seconds of switching on, wait for a further 30 seconds before attempting
to start the engine again.
(c) Do not allow the starter motor to run for more than 30 seconds, otherwise failure of the starter motor may
result.
7.6 TO STOP THE ENGINE_________________________________________________
(a) Return the speed control lever to the "idle" position.
(b) Switch the key to the "off" position and remove the key.

DRIVING THE MACHINE _______________________________________________
•
Release brake - Make sure the parking brake
is released before attempting to go forward or
reverse.
•
Forward - Gently depress the top (A) of the
FWD/REV foot pedal to reach desired ground
speed.
•
Reverse - Gently depress the bottom (B) of the
FWD/REV foot pedal to reach desired ground
speed.
•
To stop - Gently return the FWD/REV foot pedal
to the neutral position.
•
To hold the vehicle stationary on a slope it may be
necessary to apply a certain amount of reverse traction.
CAUTION
Use complete foot to operate both forward and reverse
The foot should always be kept firmly on the pedal to
maintain full control of the drive pedal
