Operating Mode and Topologies
This chapter provides an overview of the operating mode and topologies supported by the
OmniStor 4700S. Understanding the topologies allows you to make the best choice for the
optimum configuration that completes your storage system solution.
Simplex Mode
The simplex operating mode uses the single SCSI-SATA RAID Controller providing the
storage solution with some level of redundancy. Its multiple port topology provides two
active independent SCSI ports.
There are three topologies with this operating mode. The last topology, Expansion
Connection, is used for expanding the storage solution.
