Replacing the Backup Battery

The procedures below describe the process to replace the backup battery in the RAID 
Controller.

1

Access your host(s) system and stop all IO operations to the controller.

Using either StorView or the VT-100 interface, shutdown the controller. This will 
cause the controller to flush the cache to the host system. Refer to the StorView 
Storage Management or VT-100 Software Guides for details on shutting down the 
RAID Controller.

Power down the enclosure. Refer to “Powering Off the Storage System” on page 41.

4

Remove the RAID Controller. Release the latches and pull the controller from the 
enclosure.
