Automatic Termination Override
To ensure proper SCSI termination when daisy-chaining OmniStor 4700S storage systems,
you will be required to override the automatic termination feature on the enclosures that
are not at the end of the SCSI bus chain. This option is provided via a 4 switch DIP switch
found on the RAID Controller’s circuit board. It is accessed through the vent holes in the
controller’s right-hand side case panel.
There are four switches numbered 1 - 4, and they control termination and term power on
each of the controller’s host channel I/O connectors. Switches 1 and 2 are for the upper
and lower host Channel 1 connectors and switches 3 and 4 are for the upper and lower host
Channel 0 connectors, respectively. The switches should be set in pairs, that is for example
if switch 1 is set to the “Up” position, then switch 2 should as well be set to the “Up”
position.
