Installing the Chassis in a Third-Party Rack
After you install the side rails, install the BladeFrame BF200
chassis in the rack.
To install the chassis in the rack:
1.
Remove the chassis from its shipping carton.
Caution:
Make sure that the acrylic door is closed and latched
before you attempt to remove the chassis from the shipping carton.
If the door falls open, it might get damaged. DO NOT LIFT THE
CHASSIS USING THE DOOR. DO NOT TILT OR PIVOT THE
CHASSIS DOOR ASSEMBLY WHEN HANDLING.
2.
Remove any filler blades from the chassis. The chassis must be
empty of all blades and filler blades before you install it in the
rack. (For more information, see
.)
3.
Insert the chassis on the side rails.
Note:
Fujitsu Siemens Computers recommends that two people
install the chassis in the rack.
4.
Push the chassis back into the rack until the four mounting holes
on each side of the chassis align with the mounting holes in the
side rails. If the four holes do not align, the side rails are in the
wrong position (see
).
5.
Secure each side of the chassis to the rack with four of the
screws provided.
Caution:
The weight of the chassis must be fully supported by the
combination of side rails and front mounting flanges, not by the
mounting screws alone.
6.
Snap on the two plastic trim strips over the mounting flanges on
the sides of the chassis.
