Your Telnet session is now open to your BladeFrame BF200 via a
terminal concentrator. If your Telnet client is running on a Linux
workstation, you must also confirm the settings discussed in the
next session.
Setting Up a Linux Telnet Client
If you are using a Linux client, your Telnet client must be set to
mode char
and
toggle bin
to communicate with the cBlades.
To set
mode char
and
toggle bin
in your Telnet client:
1.
Escape to the Telnet shell by entering
CTRL+]
.
The Telnet shell prompt appears.
2.
Enter
display
.
The Telnet settings appear.
3.
Enter
mode char
.
The cBlade prompt appears as the value is set and you leave the
Telnet shell.
4.
Return to the Telnet shell by typing
CTRL+]
.
The Telnet shell prompt appears.
5.
Enter
toggle bin
.
Random characters might display.
6.
Press
Enter
.
The cBlade prompt reappears.
Your Linux Telnet client is now ready to communicate with the
cBlades.
7.
At the
lilo boot:
prompt on the console, either press
Enter
or wait for the boot to proceed on its own.
