Making Network and SAN Connections
Release 5.0
5-23
Note:
If you want the host name change to take effect immediately,
you must run the Linux
hostname
command on each cBlade.
The Control Blades synchronize the network files, and subsequent
boots revert to the default files contained in /
proc/egenera/
ConfigFiles
. To persist the hostname changes:
13.
Look in
/proc/egenera/ConfigFiles/ifca
(on
Control Blade 2) and /
proc/egenera/ConfigFiles/
ifcb
(on Control Blade 1) for the
network.ifca
and
network.ifcb
files, respectively.
14.
If the network files are found, remove them from Control Blade
2.
15.
Reboot Control Blade
1
.
Rebooting Control Blade 1 causes Control Blade 1 to
synchronize files from Control Blade 2. When it does not find
the default network files in /
proc/egenera/
ConfigFiles/ifca
, it uses the files created in /
etc/
sysconfig/ifc
, created earlier in this procedure.
16.
When Control Blade 1 has rebooted and fully initialized, reboot
Control Blade 2. (Control Blade 2 synchronizes the correct
network files from Control Blade 1.)
