7.3 Sensor Filling and measurement problems

Sensor not taking
measurements
Sensor not filling with oil See symptom below

Level sensor not switching Re-calibrate level sensor - refer to
relevant section of manual. Service
personnel only
Sensor firmware fault Re-Boot sensor - turn power to sensor
off and on again
Sensor not filling with oil Engine not running Wait for next engine run
Oil inlet valve closed Open inlet valve
Scavenge pipe connection
not installed correctly Refer to the installation part of the
manual and check
Sensor or inlet pipe blocked See symptom below
Air solenoid passing air Isolate air to that sensor and see if it fills
with oil
Overhaul air solenoid
There is no air blast Check for noise and feel vibrations from the
air blast
Check for air pressure: Is the ‘no air alarm’
activated?
Pipework not constructed
properly.
Conduct oil flow test
Sensor/pipe blocked Air supply shut off Reinstate air supply
Air solenoid not operating Check solenoid operation and
overhaul/replace if necessary
Pipe bend too tight Refer to installation manual and re-run
pipe if necessary
Sensor takes the same
