LAN IP addresses
for the DSL Router
This is the IP address you enter in the address
field in the Web browser to access the
configuration graphical user interface (GUI) of
the gateway. The default IP address is
192.168.1.1
and it is referred to as the
Management IP address in this user manual.
You can change this to suit any desired IP
address scheme. This address is the basic IP
address used for DHCP service on the LAN
when DHCP is enabled.
LAN Subnet Mask
for the DSL Router
This is the subnet mask used by the DSL router,
and is used throughout your LAN. The default
subnet mask is
255.255.255.0
. You can change
it later.
Username
This is the user name used to access the
management interface of the gateway, when
you attempt to connect to the device through a
Web browser. The default user name of the
router is
admin
. It cannot be changed.
Password
This is the password required when you access
the management interface of the gateway. The
default password is
admin
. It cannot be
changed.
Ethernet NIC
If your computer has an Ethernet NIC, you can
connect the DSL router to this Ethernet port
using an Ethernet cable. You can also use the
Ethernet ports on the DSL router to connect to
other computers or Ethernet devices.

By default, your DSL router residential gateway
is configured as a DHCP server. This means
that it can assign an IP address, a subnet mask,
and a default gateway address to computers on
your LAN. The default range of IP addresses
that the DSL router assigns is from 192.168.1.2
