Menu Overview / Refresher
In this section we will cover the Masters, Special Cards,
Security and Configurations Menus. Remember, to
navigate through the menus, press the MENU key and
then use the LEFT ARROW and RIGHT ARROW keys
to navigate the menus. Use the UP ARROW and
DOWN ARROW keys to select the desired menu item.
The functions described in the following sections can
be accessed only from the MAIN encoder.
Staff Key Management
In this section you will learn how to encode and use
Staff Keys, also known as Master Keys. Each system
has be customized to meet the requirements given to
Onity in the Keying Request Form. The number and
naming of Master Card types will vary from system to
system depending on a property’s needs, but almost all
systems have a few types in common. These are the EK
(Emergency Key) and GM (Grand Master) keys.
The HT22 system is very flexible in the way it handles
Master (staff) keys. Each master key type is configured
by Onity to open only the doors requested by the
property. For example, the EK Card typically opens all
