8. When you are finished making Single Opening
Cards, press the MENU key to select another
function, or press the EXIT key to log out of the
system.
Read Card
This function is used to identify an unknown card, or to
examine the information encoded on the card.
To read a card, perform the following steps:
1. Enter your password and press the ENTER key.
2. Press the READ key. The screen will prompt you to
insert the card.
3. Once the card has been read, the screen will display
all of the guest information encoded on the card, such
as the authorizations and the expiration date and time.
In the example below, the card is for room 101, and it
is the original card (not a copy). The card was
authorized to operate the guestroom safe, and the
card will expire at 2:00 p.m. on November 27, 1998.
