Cleaning the Optical Reader
Dust may accumulate on the optical reader glass and cause document scanning problems; to avoid
this happening, clean the glass every now and again as described below:
1. Switch off the facsimile machine.
4. Clean the 5 document rollers
with a dry cloth.
3. Clean the optical reader glass
using a cloth dampened with a
product specifically designed for
cleaning glass, and then
carefully wipe dry (do not pour
the product directly onto the
glass!).
2. Lift the operator console.
5. Having completed the operation, lower the operator console again.
6. Clean the outer surface of the facsimile machine (the paper cassette, the operator console
and the document insertion slot) using a dry cloth.
Manual Nozzle Testing Procedure
If you notice a deterioration in the print quality during normal use, proceed as follows:
1. Press PRINT.
PRINT HEAD ADJUSTMENT
PURGE PRINT HEAD
2. Press
∧∧∧∧∧
or
∨∨∨∨∨
to display the "NOZZLES TEST" function and press START. The facsimile
machine starts to test the nozzles and prints the diagnostic result.
