Use the
KEY BEEP OFF/ON
key to turn off the audio of
the keys—except for the
MOB
key and the
SAVE
key
(these keys will always beep).
•
Use the
LOUDER
key to increase the volume of the alarm
audio.
•
Use the
SOFTER
key to decrease the volume of the alarm
audio.
Alarms contain information you should read as soon as
possible, including such information as a dragging anchor, lost
GPS signals, or the upcoming arrival at a particular waypoint.
Alarms are displayed at the top of the
CHART
screen and at
the bottom of other screens, including the echo sounder
screens. They are accompanied by sound unless the audio is
turned off. Exceptions to this are the anchor drag and
avoidance points alarms, which are accompanied by a
somewhat louder beeping.

Even if you’re not actually looking at the display screen, the
alarm audio sounds, reminding you to check for alarm
messages.
