2. To turn off only the head where you pressed the
PWR
key,
press the
THIS HEAD
key. Otherwise, to turn off the entire
system including the processor, press the
BOTH HEADS
key.
Using the
test-power switch
The processor has a
TEST-POWER
switch located on the
upper-left corner of the rear of the processor case (when
viewed from the back). When this switch is set to
AUTO
, the
control head’s
PWR
button automatically turns off the
processor. When set to
TEST
, the processor stays on—even if
you turn the control head off. This setting lets you save power
by turning off the control head while the processor is running,
and lets you separately test the functioning of the head and
processor, if necessary. Unless the 961/962 is being tested,
make sure the
TEST-POWER
switch is set to
AUTO
.
Function keys
The five function keys located across on the lower left part of
the control head—
CHART
,
STEER
,
WAYPTS/ROUTES
,
STAR
,
and
TRIP
—control the functions you’ll use most often.
NOTE:
Pressing a function key immediately cancels any edit-in-progress
(such as waypoint entry) so that you can view the data requested by
your function keypress. To resume editing at the previous screen,
you must return to that screen and re-enter the data that you lost
when you pressed the function key. To purposely cancel an
edit-in-progress, however, you’d normally press the
CANCEL
key.
