4-2. Interface Configuration Fields
Field
Description
Interface
Indicates the interface to be affected by the Interface Shaping Rate.
Select the check box in the heading row to apply a trust mode or rate to
all interfaces. Select the check box next to an individual port to apply a
trust mode or rate to a specific interface.
Interface Trust Mode
Specifies whether or not an interface (or all interfaces if all interfaces are
selected) trust a particular packet marking when the packet enters the
port. The default value is trust 802.1p. The mode can only be one of the
following:
• Untrusted
• 802.1p
• DSCP
Interface Shaping Rate
Specifies the maximum bandwidth allowed, typically used to shape the
outbound transmission rate in increments of 64 kbps in the range of 16-
16384. This value is controlled independently of any per-queue
maximum bandwidth configuration. It is effectively a second-level
shaping mechanism. The default value is 0, in increments of 16. A value
of 0 means the maximum is unlimited.
