Changing Engine Oil
Refer to the following procedures:

DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key from the ignition before leaving the operator
’
s seat for any reason.
NOTE:
The engine should be warm when you change the oil.
1.
Stop the engine and remove the key.
2.
Place a drain pan with a capacity of about 24 liters (6 US gallons) under the engine oil drain.

3.
Remove oil drain plug (A) and allow the oil to drain.
4.
When all of the oil has drained out of the tank, replace
drain plug (A).
5.
Check the condition of the used oil. If either of the
following is evident, have your Dealer correct the
problem before starting the engine:
•
Thin black oil indicates fuel dilution.
•
Milky discoloration indicates coolant dilution.
6.
Properly dispose of used oil.
NOTE:
Replace oil filter each time engine oil is changed. Refer
to
Replacing Engine Oil Filter, page 316
IMPORTANT:
Do
NOT
run engine without oil in the crankcase. Refer
to
