Battery Life
The system’s battery should be changed once at least every eight years or when it is depleted. If the battery is not
replaced, the time stamp of recorded temperature data will be affected after a power cycle, resetting to the year
2003. A depleted battery will not affect the ability of the probe to read or record the temperature.
Battery Life Screen
Once your battery has reached eight years of use, the system will go into a Fault state and instruct you to change
the battery. See Section 11.1
for instructions on how to replace the battery.
Caution:
Battery replacement should only be performed by authorized personnel. There is danger of
explosion if the battery is mishandled or incorrectly replaced. Replace the battery only with one of
the same manufacturer and type or equivalent type recommended.
Do not disassemble batteries or attempt to recharge them outside the system. Dispose of batteries
properly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and local regulations.
Once a new battery has been installed, press the
Reset
button to reset the system’s eight year countdown. A
battery life reset will require you to enter an authentication code.
If you find that the date and time in the menu screen is incorrect, it means that a power outage has occurred and
the battery is depleted. Go to
Menu < Setup < Date & Time
to set time and date and replace the battery.
