As soon as power is supplied the display switches on and
undergoes a boot process which also displays the loaded software
standard. The boot process includes a ‘Busy Indicator’ at the bottom
of the display which shows that the system is working and trying to
establish a data connection to the PFLARM Core Unit, as shown in
Fig 7. If the boot process fails the ‘Busy Indicator’ will stop; this
indicates that the display is not receiving data from the PFLARM
Core Unit.

A rotary/push knob, mounted to the left of the display screen, is
used to access the settings menu, select and execute menu choices,
select traffic information and to zoom the display. These are outlined
in Table 1:
