DESCRIPTION
General
1. The aircraft main electrical system is 28 volt DC supplied from four
24 volt batteries and two engine driven DC generators on the inboard
engines. DC Ground Power can be connected for servicing and starting
the engines. A rotary inverter supplies 115 volt AC power.

2.
Ground/Flight Switch.
A Ground/Flight Switch (marked GROUND/
FLIGHT), is on the starboard side of the fuselage just aft of the forward
main spar and controls the DC to the aircraft. When the switch is selected
up (marked GROUND) power is supplied from the external supply. In
the down position (marked FLIGHT) power is supplied from the aircraft
batteries and engine driven generators.
3.
Ground Power.
A 28 volt trolley accumulator can be connected to
the ground power socket in either the port or starboard wheel wells.
Whenever ground power is connected and either of the Ground Power
contactors are closed a Ground Power supply ON light is illuminated at
the Flight Engineer’s station.
4.
Batteries.
Four 24 volt 40AH lead acid batteries, giving a total output
of 80AH, are to the rear of the front main spar underneath a wooden
platform. The positive feed from the batteries is connected to the battery
