Reassembly
Install Muffl er
1. Install new exhaust gaskets onto the exhaust
studs.
2. Install the port liners (if equipped). A
tt
ach the

er and secure with the four hex
fl
ange nuts
onto the exhaust studs. See Figure 10-110. Torque
the hex
fl
ange nuts to
24.4 N·m (216 in. lb.)

3. Install any a

aching hardware and brackets.
Torque M6 screws to
9.9 N·m (88 in. lb.),
and M8
screws to
24.4 N·m (216 in. lb.)

4. Install spark arrestor (if used).
Install Oil Filter and Add Oil to Crankcase
1. Install the oil drain plugs. See Figure 10-111.
Torque the plugs to
21.4 N·m (16
ft
. lb.)
.
NOTE: Make sure that both oil drain plugs
are installed and torqued to the above
speci
fi
cations to prevent oil leakage.

2. Install a new oil
fi
lter following the instructions
in Section 6.
3. Apply a thin
fi
lm of clean engine oil to the rubber
gasket on the oil
fi
lter and thread the
fi
lter onto
the adapter nipple. See Figure 10-112.
4. Install the new oil
fi
lter to the
fi
lter adapter or oil
cooler. Refer to instructions on the oil
fi
lter for
proper installation. See Figure 10-112.

5. Add oil to bring the level up to the
F
mark.
Reinstall the dipstick and oil
fi
ll cap. See Figure
10-113.

Connect Spark Plug Leads
1. Connect the leads to the spark plugs. See Figure
10-114.
