9.2.2 Unit software
The software is imported onto every ETS 21.
The transfer takes place via an RS 232 interface,
with the aid of computer. The program MSK-Termi-
nal is required to download the unit software.
The latest unit software can be requested via the
customer service department.
Transfer unit software
Prerequisites:
Computer with transfer cable
(RS 232 interface)
Software for downloading the MSK-Terminal les
Control software for the processor Bootload-
er256.mhx is transferred.
Procedure for transfer
see Fig. 9.2.2-2
Connect the PC to the control unit via the RS
232 interface.
Set the DIP switches 5 + 6 on the ETS 21 board
to OFF.
Call up the MSK-Terminal program for data
transfer.
On the top right of the screen, select the eld
<Erase Datasegment SA2> (place a tick).
Select the <Com> mode, <Settings>, and set
the interface (generally <Com 1>). Accept all the
other settings.
Select <Com> mode and click on <Open>. The
port address is shown in the status bar.
Click on the <Reset> button in the bottom left of
the screen. The status bar shows the connection
data and, for a short time, also the noti cation
<Status: CD changed>. If this noti cation does
not appear, check the connection between the
PC and ETS 21.
Press the reset button RST1 on the ETS 21
board.
