4. Disconnect wire connector (2).
5. Remove three screws (1).
6. Remove brake coil (3) from AC traction motor (4).
Installation Notes
• Install brake coil by reversing the order of removal.
• Tighten screws (5) to 65 lb-in. (7.3 N·m).

WARNING
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove AC traction motor assembly. (See “AC
Traction Motor Assembly” on page 4-162.)
3. Remove brake coil from AC traction motor assembly.
(See “Brake Coil” on page 4-163.)

4. Clean AC traction motor assembly of any debris.
5. Remove snap ring (1) and spacer (2).
6. Remove screws (3) and cover (4).

7. Remove four screws (7).
8. Lift boot (9), carefully guide wires (8) through boot
opening, and disengage brake side end plate (5)
from AC traction motor housing (6).

9. Remove screw (10).
10. Remove screws (12) and plates (11).
Be sure that the key switch is off, all electrical
accessories are turned off, and the 12-volt and
48-volt power connectors are disconnected
before starting work on machine.
