5.
Place the key switch in the on position and observe
the +12 volt power in LED (5).
Is the +12 volt power in LED illuminated?
YES
The +12 volt power input is good. Proceed to
the next step.
NO
Check 12 volt start battery, cables, and
connections. Repair or replace as needed.
6.
Place the key switch in the off position. Open the
MCU access panel, place the key switch in the on
position and observe the glow plug relay output
LED (2).
Does the glow plug relay output LED illuminate
for approximately five seconds?
YES
MCU glow plug output is good. Proceed to
the next step.
NO
MCU is faulty. Replace as needed.
7.
Place the key switch in the start position and observe
the start relay output LED (1).
Does the start relay output LED illuminate while
the key switch is in the start position?
YES
MCU start relay output is good. Proceed to
the next step.
NO
MCU is faulty. Replace as needed.
8.
Place the key switch in the off position to reset the
controller. Place the key switch in the start position
and observe the fuel pull solenoid output LED (4) and
the fuel hold solenoid output LED (3).
Does the fuel pull solenoid LED illuminate for
approximately two seconds before going out and
illuminating the fuel hold solenoid output LED?
YES
The MCU fuel pull and hold solenoid outputs
are good. Proceed to the next step.
NO
MCU is faulty. Replace as needed.
9. With the key switch in the start position, measure
voltage at the fuel solenoid.
Does the multimeter display 12VDC?
YES
The MCU to fuel solenoid harness and
connections are good. Test the fuel shutoff
solenoid, replace as needed.
NO
The MCU to fuel solenoid harness is faulty.
Test wire harness and connections.
10. With the key switch in the start position, measure
voltage at the starter solenoid.
Does the multimeter display 12VDC?
YES
The starter solenoid harness is good. Test
stater solenoid, replace as necessary.
NO
Check PDU to starter solenoid harness. If
harness tests good, the start relay is faulty.
Replace the PDU.
Start Circuit–Gasoline Engine
Symptom: Machine Will Not Start
IMPORTANT
System requires a minimum of 43VDC in order for the
start circuit to operate properly. Verify system
voltage before performing the following procedure.
1. Turn the key to the run position. Enter the
maintenance mode. Toggle the LCD to the switch
status screen.
