9. Test the brake coil.
Does the multimeter indicate an ohms value of
approximately 25.5?
YES
The brake coil is good. Proceed to the next
step.
NO
Check brake coil harness and connectors.
Replace brake coil as needed.
10. Measure 48V traction contactor output voltage at the
48V traction positive connector on the PDU.
Does the multimeter display 48VDC?
YES
The traction contactor is good. Proceed to
the next step.
NO
Check 300A fuse in the PDU. If fuse checks
good replace the traction contactor.
11. Measure traction contactor output voltage at B+ 48V
terminal on the TCU.
Does the multimeter display 48VDC?
YES
The traction contactor output voltage is good.
Proceed to the next step.
NO
Check cable between the PDU and TCU.
12. Place the key switch in the on position and observe
the TCU power LED.
Does TCU power LED illuminate?
YES
48 VDC input J44-1 is good. Proceed to the
next step.
NO
Check connections and measure voltage at
J44-1. If 48VDC is present, TCU is faulty. If
voltage is not present, check harness and
connections.
13. With key on and traction pedal in neutral, measure
AC voltage at traction motor terminals U, V, and W.
Does multimeter indicate 48VAC (+/- 10%) at all
terminals?
YES
The TCU is good. Replace traction motor as
needed.
NO
The TCU is faulty. Replace TCU as needed.
Steering Circuit
Symptom: Machine Will Not Turn
1. Turn the key to the run position. Enter the
maintenance mode. Toggle the LCD to the switch
status screen.
Figure 4-70
2.
Sit in the seat and observe the digit at position (1).
Does the zero change to a one when the seat
switch it engaged?
YES
Seat switch is good. Proceed to next step.
NO
The seat switch is faulty. Check connections
at switch and/or bench test switch and
replace as needed.
3. Toggle the LCD to the CAN Bus Status Screen.
Figure 4-71
4.
Observe the SCU status (2). A flashing display
indicates the controller is not communicating.
Is the SCU communicating with the CAN system?
YES
SCU communication is good. Proceed to the
next step.
NO
SCU communication is faulty. Check CAN
line connections.
5. Test PDU 30A circuit breaker.
Does the multimeter indicate an ohms value of
0.02 or less?
YES
The circuit breaker is good. Proceed to the
next step.
NO
Replace circuit breaker as needed.
