The RAID controller module contains a main circuit board, an interface faceplate, a
cooling module bay, and a pre-installed DDRII DIMM module. The controller on the
dual controller model also features a CBM, consisting of a BBU and flash backup
module. The CBM and its components might be optional items. See
1.4.2 Controller
Module of JBOD Models
for details.
The controller module contains no user-serviceable components. Except when
installing/upgrading the cache memory or installing/replacing a CBM, the controller
module should never be removed or opened.
WARNING
Although the RAID controller can be removed, the only time you should touch the
controller itself is to install/replace the memory modules or CBM. The RAID controller
is built of sensitive components and unnecessary tampering can damage the
controller.
Docking connectors:
The FCI docking connectors at the rear of the controller
mate the main circuit board with the backplane.
Ejection levers:
Two ejection levers on the sides of the module help installing
and retrieving the controller.

Connects to host computers. See
1.4.3 Host Port of RAID Models
for
