EonStor DS S12/S16/S24 Series Hardware Manual

Chassis

The EonStor DS series chassis is a rugged storage chassis divided into front and

rear sections. The chassis is designed to be installed into a rack or cabinet. As

shown in the illustration below, the height difference can be clearly seen between

S12, S16 and S24 enclosures. The extra height difference serves no specific

functionality but it does translate into an extra row of hard drive trays when viewed

from the front of the enclosure.

Note:

For manual illustration purposes, we will use a S12 model to demonstrate S12, S16

and S24 front panel components and S12S for JBODs unless specific structural

functionalities exists, it will be stated otherwise!

Drive trays:

Each drive tray is hot-swappable and holds a 3.5-inch drive.



LCD keypad panel:

A 16 characters x 2 rows LCD panel and function keys

allows you to view system events and configure the firmware.


