RAID Controller and Interface

Each RAID controller comes with a pre-installed DDRII DIMM module. High-capacity

SATA drives are also supported by adding drive enclosures.

The traditional battery backup is replaced by an innovative CBM (Cache Backup

Module) methodology (optional feature in the single controller model), which consists

of a battery backup unit (BBU) and flash backup module (FBM). Cached data is

quickly distributed to a flash backup module with the support of a BBU in the event of

a power outage. Because of a shorter discharge time, BBU life expectancy is

extended, and data is safely kept in flash regardless of the traditional 72 hours

limitation.

The embedded firmware features intelligent algorithms, such as power-saving

modes, variable fan speeds, and exiled drive handling, making this model a greener

choice.

JBOD Controller and Interface

The enclosure is managed by expander controllers that distribute data flow to

individual disk drives and report operating status through a proprietary enclosure
