Insert the new controller module
. Carefully push the controller until you feel the
contact resistance when the board edge connectors are engaging the backplane.
Ejection levers
9. Push the ejection levers upward and fasten the retention screw on the
ejection levers.

Reattach all the cables.
11. (For single controller models or when replacing both controllers
simultaneously) Power up the system.
Check system message on the LCD
screen, SANWatch, or firmware menu-driven utility. When the replacement
controller is successfully brought online, its Controller Status LED (See
4.3
Controller LED
12. Controller LED should turn on properly.

Restoring NVRAM data.
For detail procedures on how to restore the NVRAM
data, please refer to the “Firmware Manual, section 3.7.6 Restoring NVRAM from
Disks”.
5.2
Replacing the Memory Module for RAID Models
The RAID controller comes with a pre-installed DDRII DIMM module and supports up
to 4GB module. You may replace it when you need a larger module or the original
module malfunctions (often shown as the “NVRAM failure” event in SANWatch
software suite).
WARNING
Follow the ESD Precautions (see page 5 for details).
Contact Infortrend or your system vendor for selecting a compatible memory module.
Reusing the DIMM module removed from a failed controller is not recommended
unless you have a similar RAID system to test its integrity.
