Control Codes
8.Carriage Return: CR (X
'
0D
'
)
Returns the print position to the first character position on that line (left
margin), after printing the content of the line buffer. If the succeeding
data on the same line is received, it is written over the data already in
the print buffer.
If the print position is already at the left margin, this code is ignored.
9.Device Control 1: DC1 (X
'
11
'
)
Changes the printer to the "Ready" state. If the printer is in the "Ready"
state and it receives DC1, it ignores the code.
10.Device Control 3: DC3 (X
'
13
'
)
Prints all data stored in the buffer and changes the printer to the "Not
Ready" state. If the printer is in the "Not Ready" state and it receives
DC3, it ignores the code.
11.Cancel: CAN (X
'
18
'
)
Clears the print buffer. The printer enters the "Ready" state.
This control code is valid even during a printing interruption. If the CAN
code is received during printing, printing continues to the end of the
current line and clears the content in the print buffer.
The CAN code cannot be used to cancel the following:
12.Space: SP (X
'
20
'
)
Moves the width of a single character, which is the same as a single
byte character, at that point. (The print position moves to the right.) In
the character enlarging mode, this code moves the position the width of
double character spacing at that point. In the condensed mode, it
moves a single character space.
If the condensed character mode has been selected, the single byte
character pitch is 18 cpi. Any movements caused by this control code
are executed accordingly in 18 cpi.
