Ribbon Jam Recovery

 

 

3.4 Ribbon Jam Recovery

If a ribbon jam occurs in the printer, the Check lamp lights up on the operator
panel, the alarm goes off, and the following message is displayed:

To recover from a ribbon jam, do the following:

Ÿ

If a ribbon jam occurs often or the message “RIBBON JAM” is displayed on the
operator panel, though a form jam does not actually occur, power off the
printer, wait five seconds, and power on the printer again.

If the ribbon jam is not corrected by this action, call your IBM service represen-
tative.

Ÿ

Your hands might be stained by the ink. Wear gloves to keep your hands
clean when handling the ribbon.
