Meaning: An error was detected in the host system program.
Operator Action: Press Stop. Consult the host system programmer.

Meaning: A data transfer error has occurred.
Operator Action: Power off the printer, wait five seconds, and
power on the printer again.

HOST NOT ACTIVE

(Only if connected to AS/400)
Meaning: The printer cannot communicate with the host system.
Operator Action: Check if the communication cable is correctly con-
nected. If communication is still not possible, contact the system oper-
ator.

6 XX MACHINE CHECK
POWER ON/OFF

Meaning: Trouble might have occurred in the printer.
Operator Action: Power off the printer, wait five seconds, and power on
the printer again.

6CX MACHINE CHECK

Meaning: A communication error with the host system has occurred.
The set address might be incorrect.

Otherwise, power off once and then power on again.

Meaning: The power was turned on. (The display changes after one
second elapses.)
Operator Action: If the display does not change, power off and then
power on again.

The Test lamp lights.
Meaning: The printer is in the test mode.
Operator Action: Press Cancel. Diag Exit? appears on the LCD.
Press Start; the printer returns to the status just after it was powered
on.

The Test lamp is not lit.
Meaning: There might be a problem in the initial settings or with the
printer.
Operator Action: If the problem is the initial settings, continue initial-
izing. If the problem is not the initial settings, power off the printer and
power it on again.
