Remove the processor extender board from the server and place it on an antistatic mat. See
“Removing the Processor Extender Board” (page 161)
.
2.
Locate the socket (CPU0, CPU1, CPU2, or CPU3) to install the dual processor module into.

Ensure that the cam on the processor socket lock is in the unlocked, counterclockwise position.
4.
Remove any protective packaging from the processor module.
TIP:
Protective covers can be installed to protect connector pins. Save covers for future
use.
5.
Inspect the pins of the processor to be installed. Verify that the processor pins are not bent.
