Panel Configuration Overview
This section gives a brief guide to the methods
for configuring the XLS80e Series panels.
3.1
Where to Access the Configuration
Actions
The panel can be configured at one of the
following:
a. The panel, using its controls and indicators.
This is the slowest method, so the
manufacturer recommends that you only
use this method to perform small-scale
operational amendments after the panel is
fully commissioned. Refer to
Section 3.3
.
b. Off-line, using a Personal Computer (PC,
e.g. a laptop) running the Off-line Support
Tool. The updated configuration is
subsequently uploaded to the panel via its
internal RS232 port. Refer to
Section 3.4
.
At the start
The Access 3 passcode is required to configure
the panel. Refer to
Section 3.5
.
At the finish
A ‘Confirm Changes’ prompt is displayed. The
changes you have made are not permanently
stored in the panel’s memory unless you press
to select ‘confirm’. If you press
to select
‘cancel’,
the changes are lost
.
