8500C/C+ does not recognize 8520C. (cont’d.)
5. Check A1P5 serial connector on 8500C/C+
harness assembly (Figure 5-19).
6. 8520C controller board is most likely at
fault. Replace 8520C controller board
(Figure 5-20, A1).
7. 8500C/C+ digital board is next most likely
at fault. Replace 8500C/C+ digital board
(Figure 5-17, A1).
Printer does not print.
1. Cycle power on 8500C/C+.
NOTE: This erases any print jobs
waiting to be printed.
2. Check whether paper roll is empty.
3. Paper may have pulled away from sensor.
Tighten paper roll and reinstall.
4. Remove tear bar (Figure 5-18, (11) & (27))
and check for paper debris that may be
jamming the gears. Check that gears are
able to turn; if they cannot, remove thin
metal strip on printer and check behind that
for debris.
5. Press
STATUS
and verify that screen
display indicates print jobs are waiting to be
printed.
6. Check 8500C/C+ harness assembly
(Figure 5-19) for shorted or open
connections which can be caused by loose
or pinched wires, unplugged connectors, or
worn-through insulation.
7. Printer assembly is most likely at fault.
Replace printer assembly (Figure 5-18
(13)).
