Disk Drive Cleaning Procedure
Disk drive heads can become dirty from extended use; symptoms usually include an increased number
of disk read and write errors. Commercially available 3.5-inch disk drive cleaning kits provide special
disks that are specifically designed to clean dirty heads. Use one of these kits to clean the 8500C/C+
disk drive as follows:
a.
Follow cleaning kit instructions to apply cleaning fluid to disk.
b.
Close (or tape over) write-protect window located on corner of disk.
