2.1 Preparation For Use

2.1.1 Unpacking

Open shipping container and remove carrying case and accessories.

Open carrying case and remove major components, cables, and accessories.

Check contents of shipping container and carrying case against enclosed Packing List.

Carefully unwrap each major component, cable, and accessory.

After transit, ensure that printer paper roll is tightly wound again by removing and

reloading as instructed in sections 2.1.4 and 2.1.5.

NOTE: In the event of damaged or missing equipment report all details to Chadwick-
Helmuth.

2.1.2 Cable Interconnections

Connect cable 10811-12 to POWER/SIGNAL IN connector on 8500C/C+ and OUTPUT/
POWER to 8500C/C+ connector on 8520C.

Ensure system is connected to a 28 VDC power source only. Serious damage to equipment
and/or personnel injury could result if connected to any AC power source.

Connect cable 10813-12 from DC POWER connector on 8520C to a 28 VDC power
supply.

If necessary, adjust contrast knob to read display (Figure 2-1).

NOTE: It is best practice to use minimum backlight.
